Presbyterian Women

On Friday, October 26, the Presbyterian Women in the Presbytery (PWP) of San Diego will meet at Iglesia Presbyterian for an Enrichment meeting. The speaker will be Helen Harwell, just back from a mission trip to Kenya. She will display items she brought back from Kenya to sell. If you were not at our Retreat in July, you don’t want to miss this opportunity. Those who met her at the Retreat are looking forward to seeing what new items she has to offer, as well as hearing new information about her travels. Please call Sheila if you need a ride. Preschool News

preschool.gifThings are humming in the Preschool Department: the children are happy in their routines, eager for stories, songs and all that outside play equipment. Rooms reflect the Autumn season, with pumpkins, colorful leaves and of course some Halloween decorations. Teachers use the season to implement learning of letters and numbers.

The preschool held a “Get Acquainted Potluck” on the evening of Thursday, September 27 at Congdon Hall. There were 120 adults and 75 children in attendance. Shelli and the preschool staff would like to thank Linda Qua, Diane White, Michele Mitchell, Chelsea Cartlidge and the 14 youths who helped out with the 75 children on the preschool grounds. We could not have done it without all of you! THANK YOU!!!

Meet Keri McColm, lead teacher in Room A. Keri specializes in two year olds. She joined our staff in 1977 and has continued here since. That equals 30 years at Northminster! Keri and Jim’s children, Matthew (22) and Rebecca (18), are graduates of Northminster Preschool, of course. Keri helps parents through the “Potty Training Blues” time, and is the first positive bridge between home and school.

Drop in some day and sit awhile, too. The chairs may be low, but your spirit will soar!

The New Northminster Online!

Welcome to Northminster’s brand new website! Whether you’re a long-time member of the church, relatively new to the church, simply curious about the church, or happen to have stumbled upon this website, we’re glad you’ve found us!

Let me highlight a few things about our new site:

  • This website is designed to help keep you updated on important info. Whether it’s an ongoing ministry, a special event, an update from one of our ministry leaders, or a brand new ministry idea, this is where you can get the information you need.
  • This website is blog-based. What that means is that this website is interactive. It’s designed to be a dialogue. If you ever want to respond to what you see, simply click below where it shows the number of “comments.” It’ll open up a new page where you can leave your comment. You can voice your support or your disagreement–we welcome both (all we ask is that you do so politely and with respect). Go ahead and give it a try!
  • This website is our connection to the world. Members of Northminster won’t be the only people visiting and commenting on this website. We welcome anyone, anywhere to become a part of the conversation that is going on right here! Our hope is that this website will contribute to our fulfilling God’s mission in the world.

My hope is that this website will be a blessing–a blessing to you, a blessing to our church, a blessing to our community, and a blessing to the world! And I hope that you will join in being that blessing!
