Sermon - “The Truth About God”

Sermon by Markus Watson on April 27, 2008

This is the sixth and last sermon in the series titled “MythBusters”

Theme – What’s the proper response when a person “sees” God? In other words, when we in some way experience the presence of God in our lives, how do we respond to that? We respond the only way we can. We respond the same way that Isaiah responded when he was confronted with the glory of “the Holy One of Israel”–with humility, contrition, and a willingness to go where God goes.

The sermon began by watching a clip from Monty Python And The Holy Grail in which God revealed himself to the characters in the movie.

These were an excellent series of sermons that touched me deeply and I feel I have to comment… Thank you for providing podcasts, a way for me to “catch up” as I do not like missing service… I think everyone will benefit by listening to them, I would like to spread the word that this is out there and accessible. These past sermons I’ve felt you were speaking directly to me and the messages sent moved me. I appreciate Shelly and Elizabeth sharing their stories… those especially left me in tears after listening to those podcasts, but in a great and inspirational way. I will not be afraid with these “changes” I’m forced to faced this next month and I know there is a light at the end of every “cave” because The Lord is with me… Thank you… My family and I will see you this weekend.

Thanks for your kind words! It’s encouraging to hear that someone is being touched, not simply by the sermons, but also by the testimonies of the people of Northminster! (Those were great stories, weren’t they?!)
