This is the third sermon in the series titled “Acts in 3 Acts: Act 1”.
Theme – As Peter and John stand before the Sanhedrin in Acts 4, we see what we might call a clash of leadership: The old leadership of God’s people (“the high priest’s family”) vs. the new leadership of God’s people (Peter and John). It is the beginning of fulfillment of Jesus’ parable of the tenants—the kingdom of God is being given to a new people. What distinguishes the two in this story? The old leadership has nothing to say, while the new leadership “cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”
The text for the sermon was taken from Acts 4:1-22.
