Sermon – Contest of Power

This the second sermon is from the series titled “Acts in 3 Acts: Act 3”.

Theme – Have you ever noticed that we tend to act differently in various situations depending on who’s in charge?  If I’ve got the power in a given situation I’ll act differently than if my boss has the power, or the police, or the IRS—or my spouse!  We also act differently when we recognize that God is the locus of ultimate power.  This is exactly what we see in Paul and Silas’ experience in the city of Philippi.

The text for the sermon was taken from Acts 16:16-18, Acts 9:15, Acts 16:19-48, and Philippians 4:11-13.
