You have probably heard of the prayer of Jabez. 1 Chronicals 4:10 “Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, ‘Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.’ And God granted his request.” While I never prayed this prayer, I feel as though God has blessed us with an answer to Jabez’ prayer.
In only a month of being in San Diego, the Lord has opened up doors and provided opportunities beyond our expectations. Here is the last two months in a nutshell:
- 15 students and leaders heard the gospel, many for the first time, at Lost Canyon Camp this summer.
- We had our first leader meeting with fresh excitement for the year and at least 3 new leaders. We will maintain leadership at Madison High School AND start contact work at Clairemont High School this year.
- Finally, our TERRITORY has expanded. We are no longer Clairemont Young Life, but ROUTE 52 YOUNG LIFE. We have been given leadership over Tierrasanta and Kearney Mesa as well (all areas that are off of the 52 freeway). After going to camp together, we found this to be a great fit. Our leadership team has now doubled and our committee base has expanded. All while blessing me and my family with a church body that has embraced us and our work with open arms. We’re so thankful to be a part of this community and look forward to a year in partnership with Northminster.
