This sermon is from the series titled “Christian Atheism” and is inspired by the book “The Christian Atheist: Believing in God but Living As If He Doesn’t Exist“, as well as other sources.
Theme – “How could God possibly love me?” Sometimes we struggle with that question when we think about the kinds of things we’ve done in our past. Sometimes shame can keep us from believing that God would love us. But when you look at the kinds of people that Jesus spent time with, we see the heart of a God who loves even—no, especially—those who are far from perfect.
The text for the sermon was taken from John 3:16-17, Luke 19:7, Matthew 9:11-13, John 4:7-9, and John 8:10-11.
