Sermon - “Fully Engaged in My Relationships“

Sermon by Markus Watson on September 21, 2008

This is the third sermon in the series titled “Fully Engaged”.

Theme - Human beings were created to be in relationship. And in order for us to get the most out of our relationships we need to be fully engaged in our relationships. We can do that by putting ourselves in a position to connect with others, by being encouragers, by praying specifically for people, and by taking advantage of opportunities to talk with people about our faith.

Sermon - “Fully Engaged in My Faith”

Sermon by Markus Watson on September 7, 2008

This is the first sermon in the series titled “Fully Engaged”.

Theme - For some reason many people tend to think that our faith is kind of a boring aspect of our lives. That may be true if our faith is only half-hearted. But when we get fully engaged in our faith–in our relationship with God–there aren’t enough words to describe how exciting our lives can be!

Sermon - “What a New Self Looks Like”

Sermon by Markus Watson on August 17, 2008

This is the eighth sermon in the series on Paul’s letter to the Ephesians.

Theme - In Ephesians 4:17-5:20, Paul continues to talk about what it looks like to live our lives worthy of our calling to belong to God.  Specifically, Paul shows what our lives look like when we “put off the old self” and “put on the new self.”  When we “put on the new self,” we become a new kind of person–a person who imitates God and whose life is characterized by light, by wisdom, and by being filled with the Holy Spirit.

This is the seventh sermon in the series on Paul’s letter to the Ephesians.

Theme - God has called us with an amazing calling–we have been called to belong to God! In response to this, Paul urges us to live our lives worthy of God’s calling. How do we do that? By working hard to maintain unity in the church and by–each of us–doing our part in the ministry of the church.

Sermon - “Power”

Sermon by Markus Watson on August 3, 2008

This is the sixth sermon in the series on Paul’s letter to the Ephesians.

Theme - It’s amazing to think that God is interested in us.  It’s even more amazing to think that God actually makes his power available to us!  In Ephesians 3:14-21, Paul tells us three things about God’s power:  1) God gives us the power to be inwardly strong, 2) God gives us the power to know how much he loves us, and 3) God’s power is at work within us.

The videos below were shown during the worship service which was a celebration of the time spent with “our kids”.  This worship service was our opportunity to provide our congregation and the parents a few of the highlights of our Amazing Week at VBS.

Houston, We Have A Problem!!

WordPress is the web publishing platform we use at Northminster.  Recently WordPress was upgraded to v2.6.  It is our policy to keep our WordPress installation current with regard to WordPress version releases.

Following our recent upgrade to WordPress v2.6 it was determined that PodPress, one of the WordPress plug-ins that we use, has a glitch that prevents the normal display and posting of pod casts.

A version upgrade to the PodPress plug-in is in the works that will fix this problem.  That version upgrade will, hopefully, be available soon.

We will be adding direct link to the sermon mp3 file in each sermon posting until the bug in PodPress is fixed.

Thank you for your patience.
